Mechanical

GMEC, cover a variation of mechanical tasks, from checking the integrity of steel frame works that secure the components within the A55 tunnels, replacing heavy duty signage and bracketry, installing pipe work for petrol and oil stations, the renewing of water valves and hydrants to installing hand rails for safe access or to prevent falls. GMEC can carry out repairs or source and replace parts on many mechanical items and equipment either in house or through our network of approved suppliers.

Civils

With our vast experience in working in different confines, we know the selection of plant and equipment is an essential element for success, therefore when required we carefully select our larger plant and equipment from local companies

GMEC’s own 3.5t vehicles, are small enough to access almost anywhere without causing congestion. Our utility spec vans with on board pneumatic compressors and 110v generators are capable of driving jackhammers and small hand breakers along with powering small and heavy tools. They remove the need for towed compressors and reduce the need to carry noisy portable generators around site. The 3 way tippers can take materials to and from confined work areas. We also have a 3.5t crane vehicle that will reduce the manual handling of equipment and materials.

If any debris ends up on the roads or pavements our road sweeper can clean up straight away and the on board pressure washer can clean up. Our excavator is one of the smallest available, and with its telescopic tracks is small enough to go through a standard doorway or garden gate yet powerful enough for a variety of works. It comes with a mounted hydraulic and hand held breakers that can be connected to reduce the hazards associated with long lengths of trailing hoses when working away from the utility vehicles.

Specialist Services

Our specialist services include the full decommissioning of petrol forecourt stations, we can take your operational station or distribution depot and make safe, dismantle, demolish and clear the site of any contamination then hand it back with a clean bill of health. GMEC staff our confined space trained and can access a majority of difficult areas, such as fuel tanks and drainage to carry out cleaning or repairs. Environmental

The environmental section covers many different aspects, from pressure washing, road sweeping and drain jetting to cleaning up oil and chemical spills and hazardous waste disposal. GMEC are registered with Natural Resource Wales as Hazardous waste carriers and brokers. We can supply spill kits and arrange collection and disposal of virtually any type of non-general waste. In the event of an emergency a full Risk Assessment and relative COSHH assessment will be carried out to minimise any further risk.

Project & Site Management

The GMEC Project Managers have delivered industrial sites to program and to the satisfaction of the client on every occasion to date. Our Site Managers are highly experienced, many of which hold NEBOSH certification along with a minimum of SMSTS qualifications, they have looked after single sites which were attended by over 25 different trades and included over 400 inductions! To compliment this service we can provide mobile welfare units if required.
